Administrative Positions

Student Director (SD)/Recruitment & Retention Organizing Committee (RROC) Representative

The Student Director will have oversight over Collective’s programs and coordinators. They will work towards supporting and helping build unity within Collective coordinators, the greater transfer and non-traditional student community at UC Davis, and the SRRC.

The Student Director will have the task of:

  • Providing holistic personal support for all Collective coordinators and general members
  • Hosting 1 on 1 meetings with program coordinators
  • Facilitating Collective's staff meetings
  • Reviewing Collective's proposals to ensure the accuracy of funding requests and alignment with SRRC values
  • Promoting transparency between RROC and the SRRC
  • Assisting in the planning and organization of various Collective events/activities
  • Attending weekly meeting with Operations Director
  • Attending SD meetings to discuss various SRRC topics

The Recruitment and Retention Organizing Committee (RROC) is the decision-making body of the Student Recruitment & Retention Center. As a RROC representative, the Student Director forms part of this governing board and holds voting privileges. RROC has oversight for all SRRC finances, SRRC operations and recruitment/retention initiatives. Furthermore, RROC provides advocacy surrounding issues of educational equality.

A RROC representative will be responsible for:

  • Allocating funding to support SRRC initiatives
  • Coordinating hours of operation and building logistics
  • Planning monthly staff in-service
  • Maintaining and promoting a welcoming, inclusive environment for the overall SRRC
  • Creating awareness to the general public of issues pertaining to your respective community

Each RROC Representative will have accompanying responsibilities for one of the follow specific RROC roles:

  • Board Chair
  • Campus Community Advocacy Chair
  • Policy Chair
  • Financial Chair
  • Secretary
  • Recruitment Chair
  • Retention Chair

Administrative Coordinator

The Administrative Coordinator supports and helps build cohesion between Collective volunteers, interns, coordinators, the SRRC, and the greater transfer and non-traditional student community at UC Davis.

 The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Program and event logistics such as room reservations
  • Supporting purchase requests and submission of final expense reports
  • Sending weekly newsletters and using social media platforms to publicize and promote Collective and Collective events and activities
  • Organizing and implementing the Volunteer/Internship Program
  • Supporting Collective staff as needed
  • Co-hosting the quarterly social/community development event for the Non-Traditional Student Community i.e. Transfers Building Community Series with fellow Collective coordinators
  • Co-coordinating Community Empowerment events/activities (1 per quarter)
  • Serving as a core member of the Administrative Committee

Recruitment Positions

Recruitment coordinators will be responsible for offering information that will motivate and equip students with the knowledge necessary for continuing their post-secondary education at UC Davis or other institutions (i.e. community college, 4-year institutions) .

Transfer Outreach Coordinator

The Transfer Outreach Coordinator is focused primarily on off-campus outreach to community college(s) and will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Community Advisor for Recruitment and the Collective Student Director to:
    • Establish partnerships with community colleges in the Sacramento Region (consider schools where students are at-risk and underserved)
    • Seek support and resources
  • Creating and maintaining sustainable positive working relationships at respective community college(s)
  • Conducting weekly outreach visits to at least 1 community college
  • Providing a student perspective on how to "transfer" and how succeed as a "transfer" student
  • Collaborate with Transfer Exposure Coordinator to provide visits to UC Davis for weekly outreach participants
  • Co-coordinating the annual Transfer Weekend Trip during the spring quarter
  • Co-coordinating SRRC recruitment events: Aggie Senior & Transfer Weekend Trip
  • Serving as a core member of the Recruitment Committee

Transfer Exposure Coordinator

The Transfer Exposure Coordinator is centered on providing on-campus outreach opportunities to community college(s) and will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Community Advisor for Recruitment and the Collective Student Director to:
    • Establish partnerships with community colleges outreach and support programs such as EOPS or PUENTE
    • Seek support and resources
  • Organizing and hosting a minimum of 3-5 Shadow Days (1 in the fall, 2-4 winter and spring quarter)
  • Serving as the liaison for transfer outreach participants to visit UC Davis:
    • Being the main contact for community college campus visits requests
    • Coordinating event logistics and creating a comprehensive campus visit agenda per group request
  • Providing a student perspective on how to "transfer" and how to succeed as a "transfer" student
  • Collaborate with Transfer Outreach Coordinator to provide visits to UC Davis for their weekly outreach participants
  • Co-coordinating annual Transfer Weekend Trip during the spring quarter
  • Co-coordinating SRRC recruitment events: Aggie Senior & Transfer Weekend Trip
  • Serving as a core member of the Recruitment Committee

Campus Visits Coordinator

The Campus Visits Coordinator will be responsible for providing a student perspective of the unique college experience through a campus tour and student panels to k-12 students who participate in SRRC Campus Visits.

The Campus Visits Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Community Advisor for Recruitment and the Collective Student Director to:
    • Establish guidelines for the visits
    • Seek support and resources
  • Being the main contact for Campus Visits requests
  • Coordinating and communicating each Campus Visit event logistics
  • Creating a comprehensive agenda per group request
  • Recruiting, selecting and training a cohort of Campus Visits volunteers
  • Collaborating with other SRRC outreach coordinators to offer Campus Visits for their outreach participants or youth leadership conference participants
  • Co-coordinating SRRC recruitment events: Aggie Senior Weekend Trip
  • Serving as a core member of the Recruitment Committee

Retention Position

Transfer Retention Coordinator

The Transfer Retention Coordinator supports the retention of transfer, re-entry, parent, and all nontraditional UC Davis students by creating engaging programming guided by SRRC holistic retention initiatives. The coordinator will focus on building a welcoming community and learning environment through providing resources and events based on the non-traditional student experience.

 The Transfer Retention Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Working closely with the Collective Student Director and Community Advisor for Retention to develop programs (ex. Creating budgets and proposals for all events/programming)
  • Coordinating the T.E.A.M. Transfer Mentorship Program
  • Providing academic support and personal development opportunities for the Non-Traditional Student Community i.e. Transfer Hours
  • Co-coordinating an empowerment event (retreat or day) for the non-traditional student community in widening their experiences such as the Transfer Empowerment Series/Retreat
  • Co-hosting the quarterly social/community development event for the Non-Traditional Student Community i.e. Transfers Building Community Series with fellow Collective coordinators
  • Creating sustainable campus partnerships with the Transfer Reentry Veterans Center and other relevant campus departments & resources
  • Collaborating with other SRRC programs to enhance transfer support and community building through joint events or staff dialogues
  • Serving as a core member of the Retention Committee
 All staff will be responsible for:
  • Creating a budget and proposal for each respective position’s projects, along with a detailed outline for each project. Programming must be catered to the nontraditional student community’s issues, working with students, and Collective staff to holistically address their needs.
  • Evaluating Collective’s programs on a regular basis and gathering feedback from participants, in addition to working closely with the Student Director.
  • Attending weekly staff meetings, weekly or bi-weekly one-on-ones with the Student Director, SRRC In-Service, and any meetings depending on position (Recruitment, Retention, Administrative, RROC/Student Director).
  • Professionally represent Collective and the SRRC, as well as be able to articulate the mission and goals of both Collective and the SRRC to staff, faculty, and students.
  • Maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA and full-time student status.
  • Must commit to at least one hour of front desk shift per week, each quarter
  • Working with intern and volunteer projects in order to provide them with a valuable experience.
  • Supporting major community events such as the T.E.A.M. Program, Transfer Weekend, Campus Visits, Transfer Empowerment Retreat, etc.
