We will promote and support academic preparation, leadership development and cultural enrichment activities for non-college tracked youth and community college students (k-12 & community college).

  1. SRRC will interest historically underrepresented, low-income or educationally disadvantaged students in continuing their post-secondary education.

  2. SRRC will inform students of the post-secondary opportunities available at UC Davis, or other higher education institutions.

  3. SRRC will use a scaffolding pedagogy to culturally empower and progressively move students toward degree completion.

  4. SRRC will promote holistic learning to engage students in the praxis of critical consciousness.

By guiding students and offering opportunities to become competitive in the admissions process for UCsCSUsCCs and any other institutions of choice, SRRC wiill serve as a vehicle of liberation for historically underrepresented, low-income or educationally disadvantaged students.

Campus Visits Experience

If you need more information, please contact:

The Student Recruitment & Retention Center (SRRC) at UC Davis stands for educational equity and strives to holistically support students both in academic and personal development. The Campus Visit Experience aims to provide disadvantaged students with more than just a simple tour, but rather an experience that exposes them to the endless possibilities and opportunities through higher education.

The Campus Visits Coordinator works under Collective: Transfer & Non-Traditional Student Empowerment, one of the seven components at the SRRC. However, we open our services to a variety of different schools ranging from elementary schools through junior colleges. We provide the opportunity for your group to tour the UC Davis campus, attend a student panel, as well as a variety of presentations, workshops, activities, games, etc. For examples of what a Campus Visit Experience would look like, check out these Agenda Examples.

If you are interested in receiving a Campus Visit Experience with the SRRC, please fill out the following application: 2017-2018 Campus Visit Request FormNOTE: We are accepting campus visits request for the following time frames: January 8-March 9, 2018 and April 9-June 1, 2018.

Campus Visits are a great way that many current UC Davis students can get involved and share their unique college experiences which will help positively influence the lives of the students who visit UC Davis. If you are a current UC Davis student interested in being a volunteer with our program we would love to have you as apart of our 2017-2018 Campus Visits Volunteer Cohort.
